Let me preface this by saying I’ve had God move in big ways in our finances and have many testimonies to prove it only a handful of which are on this site. But even though He’s consistently faithful, it’s not unusual to still struggle with keeping our flesh in check. This is one such example of that.

A the time of writing this, we are in the middle of another test of faith in the area of our finances. It may seem strange to testify when only a small portion of the picture is clear, but the fact of the matter is – God showed up and I want to tell about it because He is good!
At this moment, both my husband and I are not working. It was God’s orchestrating that put us in this position, so we’re waiting with full expectation that He will show up and do what He’s said He’ll do because He has tested our faith before, and frankly confirmations like this one help encourage us that we’re hearing His voice! » more »

December 2006
Introduction
Traditionally, my husband is not a fan of Christmas. His objections are largely focused around the forced gift-giving. Year-after-year he would voice his objections around the gift-giving practices, and finally give in and get presents for his children and some immediate family members and friends. » more »

Spring/Summer 2006
Introduction
God has spoken some fairly incredible promises over our finances. On the heels of those promises have been opportunities for obedience and tests of faith. The test I am sharing about here was one of the most difficult tests… » more »

July 2006
Introduction
God had very clearly given us our dog (See A Good Gift from God), so when we had some problems with him early on we sought the Lord’s face on what to do. We knew the Lord gives good gifts!
Suspicions of Past Cruelty
When you adopt a pet – you never really know what their history is. To make matters worse – Sketch was sick when we got him – so sometimes it was hard to tell what was his personality and what was feeling not well. » more »

July 2006
Introduction
I am a dog person. In June of 2006, I had to put my 12.5 year old Rottweiler, Chester – that I’d had for a third of my life – to sleep. It was a devastating moment, but one that God used to teach me so many things. He is so faithful! » more »

Summer 1999 to Spring 2005
Introduction
This is the brief version of what God did in our marriage. It was written the month of our 5-year anniversary (November 2006).
Dating Allen the 1st Time
My relationship with my husband got started completely the wrong way. We first met when he was my student. He was married but separated and we were both in backsliding mode and both promiscuous. We ended up in a short-lived affair. After which I ended up in another ungodly relationship heading further and further away from God’s plan for me. » more »

Spring 2003 to February 2004
Introduction
Even though God had already showed Himself true to me on tithing (see A Newbie Tither), during a backslidden period I had stopped giving to God. When I came back to the church, God quickly pricked my heart (and my husband’s) that I (we) needed to start giving to Him again. We started small again and quickly built up our giving until we were tithing (literally 10%) of our net income (after taxes). » more »

So many singles spend time thinking about who they should date and spend time dating a variety of people to find one that they like… I have to tell you, I did the same thing and below is one such story. In retrospect, I think I could have saved myself a lot of heartache by simply asking God to lead me from the beginning. » more »

Spring 1997
Introduction
I’d gotten saved in February of 1997. In March of that year, God started talking to me about my finances. I knew I needed to give to God – not because He needs it, but because it was an indication of where my heart was (Matthew 6:21: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”).
The problem was, I was already overspending my modest income. In addition, I’d amassed a debt that was approximately equal to half a year’s salary. » more »
