Salvation

God does not hate you. He is not up in the sky someplace waiting to zap you. As a matter of fact, He is incredibly in love with you as John 3:16-17 shares:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We need Jesus! Because “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Here’s an easy way to understand this – God’s glory – His holiness – is like a tall glass of pure water and sin is like manure. Does it really matter if there is a speck of manure or nearly a glass full? Either way – if the manure is in the glass and it is no longer pure! So one lie, one lustful glance, one prideful thought and we are as impure as everyone else.

The bible talks about this in 1 John 1:8 which says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

But here’s the good news, His forgiveness is a free gift – it simply requires a heart change: an acknowledgement we need a Savior, repentance of our sinful behavior, and a turning our lives over to the Lord. Acts 3:19 maps it out for us:

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…

Only Jesus can save. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

If you are ready to make this change – tell Jesus – just say it aloud, He hears you! Then begin your walk with Him by reading the bible and praying (i.e. talking with Jesus).
